HRIS Support Analyst
We’re looking for a People Systems Workday Support Analyst to join the Smart Tech AMS team. In this role, you’ll help keep our clients’ people’s processes and HR systems running smoothly, making sure we’re set up to attract, support, and retain great talent. You’ll be responsible for managing our people data and HR systems, keeping everything accurate, organized, and working efficiently. From onboarding to offboarding, you’ll play a key role in creating a seamless and positive experience for our employees at every stage of their journey.
What You'll Do:
- HR Systems Management: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for People systems, troubleshooting issues and providing solutions and process corrections.
- Data Integrity & Auditing: Maintain People systems data integrity by ensuring the accurate and consistent input of data. Perform regular audits and address data concerns. Review data within the HRIS system for accuracy, updating as needed to ensure the system reflects correct data in real-time.
- Reporting & Analytics: Design and develop complex reporting and analysis through generated reports from various databases using ad hoc queries and reporting tools to produce meaningful metrics. Generate regular and ad-hoc reports for management and stakeholders.
- Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate current systems and workflows to identify inefficiencies. Recommend and implement improvements, consolidations, or new tools to enhance the employee and People Team experience.
- Documentation & Knowledge Management: Create and maintain documentation for HR systems, processes, and workflows. Coordinate knowledge management, including assisting with the maintenance of the overall People Team Notion page and the ADP home page, plus developing content related to compensation, people systems, and payroll in both places.
- HR Technology Trends: Stay current on trends in HR systems and technologies. Proactively identify new tools or features that can improve workflows, data quality, or employee experience.
- Configure and implement system changes, including business process design, to achieve optimized functionality and streamlined processes.
- Provide day-to-day system support, including troubleshooting data and system issues, recommending solutions that address root cause, and implementing enhancements and fixes within the context of approved methods.
- Design and deliver custom reports, dashboards, and analytics using Workday reporting tools. Support ad-hoc reporting requests to support business decisions.
- Ensure data accuracy and quality through monitoring, audits, and exception reporting.
- Work closely with HR Team to understand business processes, goals and gaps; provide suggestions, reports, and/or solutions that leverage Workday, while considering downstream impact.
- Support the deployment of system updates and releases, including a focus on thorough testing.
- Provide end-user support, including ticket management via team mailbox.
- What You Should Have:
- 1-3 years of experience in Workday HRIS/people systems, including system configuration, maintenance, and reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and/or Google sheets skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas)
- Knowledge of system security best practices, compliance requirements, and data integrity standards
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to lead or support cross-functional projects, manage timelines, and meet deadlines
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; able to partner across teams effectively
- Proactive and goal-oriented with a track record of driving projects independently
- Confident navigating ambiguity and influencing without authority

The HRIS Analyst Intern will support Smart Tech’s HRIS teams by contributing to strategic projects focused on HR data structure, analysis, and reporting. This individual will help assess data accuracy, pull and analyze key workforce data, and assist in telling data-driven stories that inform critical business decisions. This will be onsite in Lombard, IL.
Over the 12-week internship, the intern will:
- Gain hands-on experience working with HR and organizational data
- Collaborate cross-functionally with both HR and IT business architecture teams
- Support reporting and storytelling efforts to inform workforce planning and strategy
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assist in the review and cleanup of HRIS data to ensure accuracy and consistency
